When I first started gymnastics, I struggled both physically and mentally. I lacked confidence, and my fears and mental blocks often took over, stunting my progress. About a year into my gymnastics journey, I began working with Coach Tracey, and that’s when everything started to change. Under her mentorship, she helped me shift my mindset to a more positive and healthy place, leading to noticeable improvements in my performance.

Whenever I faced challenges and difficult moments in the gym, I knew Coach Tracey was there to guide me with her determination and encouraging words. She took the time to listen to my fears, concerns, and problems, never giving up until she found a way to help me overcome them. She constantly went the extra mile, using her free time to brainstorm new drills and strategies to help me and her other athletes reach our goals and overcome our fears. 

I’ll never forget a time when I had a mental block on beam so severe that it began to affect not just my gymnastics but my life outside the gym. One day, I walked into practice, dreading it because of the fear that had taken over me. Before I stepped onto the mat, Coach Tracey noticed I was off and pulled me aside. After I opened up to her, she reassured me that she would support me in overcoming this fear. Her encouraging words and faith in me motivated me to keep going. She presented me with new goals and techniques to achieve my goals. Not only did I reach my end goal, but I began to look forward to practicing again, and even love the challenges. I left practices feeling empowered and confident. I had the honor of working with Coach Tracey until I graduated, and in those years, she became not only a coach but a role model and a deeply important figure in my life. 

Coach Tracey truly cares about the well-being of all of her athletes. She gives us the time, attention, and love of a family member, teaching us to be our best on the mat and off. I know I will always be able to turn to her for guidance and advice.
